Please use the registration form to sign up to one of the workshops. Online-Workshop "Who am I and who do I want to be?" Date: fall semester 2021 Target group: Bachelor level and above Where do I come from? Who am I? Who do I want to be? These are questions which bother many students during their time at university. Shaping one's life concerning own wishes, needs and values is an essential step in a person's life and at the same time a complex process. This process of developing ideas of one's own life with different facets is what we would like to stimulate and make discussable with this workshop. This workshop could be helpful if you recognize yourself in one of the following statements: You sometimes feel torn between different roles, points of view and opinions. You often are more conformed than you want to be. You wonder what your unique selling point is and what constitutes your identity. You would like to feel more confident in representing your own point of view. In a protected setting, questions about your own identity and your self will be addressed. The goal of the workshop is to increase your well-being by making different facets of your self explicit. Online-Workshop "Ressource-oriented self leadership @ home" Target group: all HSG students This seminar offers a comprehensive introduction to the topic of resource-oriented self-leadership. The seminar allows participants to expand their personal resources and thus increase their resilience and mental strength. Online-Workshop "Staying calm during the exam phase" next date: fall semester 2021 Nervousness can motivate us to study, and arousal can increase our performance – however, if they turn into panic, they can also obstruct our efforts. In this workshop, we address strategies assisting you to keep calm during the learning and especially exam period, to focus on the task at hand, and to let go of distracting thoughts and self-doubt. Online-Workshop "Value-oriented self-leadership: strengthening the focus in one's life" Next workshop: fall semester 2021 Target group: all HSG students A good self-management is an important precondition for a balanced and successful private and professional life. It requires intentional prioritizing and a good knowledge of your values. This workshop supports you in enhancing your value-oriented self-management skills. Does one of the following points apply to you? Then this workshop might be just right for you: You often want to do too many things at the same time You feel unsecure about whether you are do the right things in life You are often in the middle of many unimportant duties and you have little time left for what is important to you It is often hard for you to say “No” to interesting things and thereby you are crossing your own borders You often feel exhausted mentally and physically so that it can be hard for you to enjoy life There is no area of life which brings you energy and you have the impression that you have to put a lot of effort into everything The point of departure of this workshop are the essential questions of “How do I want do live?” and “How could I organize my life in a way I would like to live?” The workshop aims at enabling you to phrase your needs, goals and values clearly and to put your available energy into these. In this workshop, you analyze your values and develop strategies to balance demands and resources in a sustainable way. Online-Workshop "Overcoming writer's block and completing one's thesis" next workshop: fall semester 2021 Online-Workshop "Overcoming procastination and postponemitis" Next workshop: fall semester 2021 Target group: all HSG students Humans naturally try to avoid displeasure and increase their momentary experience of happiness. However, this disposition is often at odds with the life goals we want to achieve and the demands life places on us. In order to deal with this tension, many people choose the strategy of keeping unpleasant things away from themselves for as long as possible and only completing them at the last possible moment, usually under extreme stress. This workshop could be helpful for you if you recognize yourself in one of the following statements: You tend to bury your head in the sand until you can't help but face the demand, such as writing a term paper, paying reminders, studying for exams. You wonder about yourself how you manage to block out the pressure of approaching deadlines and exams, but suffer from a constant guilty conscience for not staying on the ball. You fear failure because of your procrastination. You feel that your procrastination is keeping you well below your performance potential, but you don't know how - you can overcome this dynamic. In this workshop, we will develop strategies to overcome procrastination and postponemitis, with the goal of helping you use your energies more evenly and efficiently. In addition to strategic work planning, the strengthening of sustainable (learning) motivation plays a central role in the workshop.
